Boise Greenbelt

Boise is well-known the “city of trees,” making autumn a beautiful time of year in the Treasure Valley. The Boise Greenbelt is no exception. Lined with centuries-old trees, the Greenbelt follows the Boise River for over 20 miles up to Lucky Peak Reservoir.

You can bike the length of the Greenbelt of an afternoon and see many different sides of Boise. Experience scenic views, see wildlife, and get pedestrian access to many different Boise parks.

Chandlers Steakhouse

This fine dining Boise restaurant is famous for its award-winning steak and seafood selection. Experience the best of Boise with live jazz music, fresh seafood flown in from Maine, a knowledgeable and attentive staff, locally inspired dishes, and more. Chandlers hosts a warm and inviting atmosphere, great for a chilly autumn afternoon or evening.

Idaho Anne Frank Human Rights Memorial

Kurt Karst, an architect from Idaho falls, designed this inspiring memorial to integrate the beauty of natural elements with a message of hope. This memorial includes a Quote Wall with words of presidents and slaves, children and philosophers, inscribed to inspire hope and reflection. It also includes a life-size statue of Anne Frank. Autumn is a wonderful time to visit the memorial because of the seasonal transition from summer. This area is filled with gorgeous trees and is located close to the Greenbelt.

This history-filled location is a center for educators and locals alike. An educational center is being built nearby to support programming that details the history and importance of human rights.

Freak Alley Gallery

This Boise local favorite started about nine years ago and isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. Freak Alley is the largest outdoor mural gallery in the Northwest, showcasing local artist graffiti and murals in a massive display. It’s free and open to the public 365 days a year, 24 hours a day. In the first week of August this year, several new pieces were revealed to the public, including a huge neon-inspired piece.

This spot is a favorite for photographers and art-lovers alike. Spend a few minutes after dining at Chandlers browsing the Freak Alley Gallery and discover which pieces are your favorite.
